Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is the world's only natural habitat of the endangered Asiatic Lion (Panthera leo persica). Spread across dry deciduous forests, thorn scrub, rivers, and grasslands, Gir is one of India's most iconic wildlife destinations. Besides lions, visitors may encounter leopards, striped hyenas, golden jackals, marsh crocodiles, nilgai, chital, sambar, four-horned antelope, and more than 300 species of birds.
